After more than two weeks of dry weather, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Vizianagaram and surrounding areas received light to moderate rainfall. Farmers had been worried about water shortages and delayed agricultural activities, and the recent showers are expected to improve kharif-season prospects.
